A game of tennis is a passion that has been practiced for many years, for which choosing the best tennis ball makes a big difference. That is why you should know them well and know what their characteristics are. For example, the bounce or rebound that it will have at the moment of impact.

Diversity of balls for the playing field, which one to choose?

First of all, you must know what type of player you are or what your experience is and how you are going to use it. Each one is designed to provide a different speed and bounce due to the plush that covers it. It all depends mainly on the terrain and if it is for a professional, intermediate or beginner level.

How to choose according to your speed?

As for the response speed, there are 4 types among which you can choose the most appropriate, let's see:

  • Type 1 or fast ball: It is harder than the others, but it is faster and is much smaller than the usual ones. It has less air resistance, but the game will develop faster on clay courts.
  • Type 2 or standard ball: Used when an average speed is required and the track is made of cement, acrylic or carpeted.
  • Type 3 or slow ball: They have a larger diameter, so it achieves greater air resistance, which is why they give the game less speed. Ideal for tracks containing grass.
  • Type 4 or altitude: They are designed for use on land with more than 1,219 m of altitude. Whose pressure is a little faster and the bounce will be equivalent to that of a normal ball.

How to choose based on the bounce of the ball?

It should be noted that the number that comes on the ball is related to the fact that they belong to the same game. In this way, they do not mix with that of other players. These are classified into:

  • Pressurized: They are characterized by containing a portion of air or nitrogen inside that allows a better bounce, speed and hit or spin. These are usually of a professional or competition type and for more experienced players.
  • Non-pressurized: They have a useful life time compared to pressurized ones. It is ideal to start in the world of tennis and gradually gain experience to level up. It is used a lot in children, in practices and at an amateur level, so the bounce is lower.

It must be taken into account that they are approved by the ITF, that is, they comply with the regulations for official tennis balls. You can complement them with effective men's tennis shoes so that your tennis experience is the best.
